Micro Meditations - The how, why and benefits

How many times do you find yourself pulling your hair out in the middle of the day. Or just cant focus even when you sit down to work or need a break and you cant because there is so much to do!


If you want to be in the work zone, but expand your mind a little bit or if you want to simply focus and center - try Micro meditations!


Meditation is hard in itself, now what is Micro meditation?

Micro meditation is a habit of finding our center through a simple exercise of relaxation and breathing that takes as little as 30sec!


All you have to do is sit or stand where ever you are, turn your phone to its back and close your eyes. Then gently relax your tongue (as it most likely is pressing against the top of your mouth), relax your shoulders and take 4 Box breathes (inhale for 4 sec, hold for 4 sec, enhale for 4 sec and hold for 4 sec).


Its amazing how this simple 30sec practice can just calm our nerves, increase blood flow to the brain, change the neural firings to be more calm.



Simple acts like consciously relaxing our tongue, closing our eyes, relaxing neck and shoulders are super powerful as we tend to hold stress in these locations.


So next time, as soon as you recognize the tension / stress, just take a micromeditation to stay calm :)
